"Virši" invests EUR 2.7 million into a new service station in Salacgrīva

Today, 3 June, energy commodities trader and convenience store network AS VIRŠI-A (hereinafter – Virši) opened a new service station in Salacgrīva, located at 18 Viļņu Street. With an investment of EUR 2.7 million, the Company has developed a 7,900 m² site, providing a convenient stop for both passenger and freight vehicles travelling along the Riga–Tallinn route.

The new full-service station will be open to customers 24 hours a day. It includes a 109 m² shop offering a wide range of food, beverages, and automotive products, windshield washer fluid available on tap, as well as indoor and outdoor rest areas. Customers will have access to the most popular fuel types – petrol grades 95 and 98, diesel, agricultural diesel, and AdBlue. The site features spacious parking, with capacity for 15 cars and 12 lorries at a time. By the end of the year, electric vehicle charging points for two vehicles, with a total capacity of 400 kW, will also be installed. To promote sustainable energy use, solar panels with a capacity of 39 kW have been installed on the facility's roof, capable of supplying the location’s electricity needs during sunny periods.

“The Salacgrīva service station is a strategically important project for the Company, as we have not previously been represented along the A1 motorway stretch between Ādaži and the Estonian border. We are delighted to open a spacious, modern and energy-efficient facility today, which combines convenient service with sustainable solutions. Salacgrīva is already the 83rd service station in the Virši network, and we will continue to work towards our strategic goal of reaching 90 service stations by the end of 2027,” emphasised Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Management Board of Virši.

Access to the location is provided via the A1 national main road, with entry possible from both directions – a dedicated access road with an additional turning lane has been constructed for this purpose.
