The first eight Astarte-branded service stations are now operating under the Virši brand

Energy commodities trader and convenience store network AS VIRŠI-A (hereinafter – Virši) continues to expand its network by gradually transitioning the first service stations owned by Naftimpeks to the Virši brand. The takeover process has now been completed at stations in Eleja, Tērvete, Jelgava, Brankstūri, Tukums, Dobele, Aizpute un Roja. Virši has already commenced operations at these stations, while renovation works are still ongoing to ensure that within the next few months customers can enjoy the full Virši visual identity and product assortment.

Virši has previously announced that the Competition Council has approved the company’s planned transaction, under which Virši will acquire long-term lease rights to 17 service stations owned by Naftimpeks and previously operating under the Astarte brand.

In the first phase of the transition, works have been launched at eight stations – in Eleja, Tērvete, Jelgava, Brankstūri, Tukums, Dobele, Aizpute un Roja. These stations are already operating under the Virši brand, offering the full range of fuel products and a basic convenience store assortment. At the same time, the exterior and interior design of the stations is being gradually adapted and upgraded, with the process expected to continue until autumn. Meanwhile, uninterrupted access to services is ensured for customers at all of the above-mentioned locations. During the transition period, the stations continue to operate as usual while gradually introducing solutions characteristic of the Virši network.

“This is an important step in the development of the Virši network and in strengthening our presence across Latvia’s regions. For the convenience of our customers, we are implementing the station takeover process gradually and thoughtfully, while ensuring uninterrupted access to services. We are confident that the substantial investments planned for the integration of the Astarte stations into the Virši network will deliver significant growth in market share and support the achievement of our long-term strategic goals,” says Jānis Vība, Chairman of the Management Board of Virši.

By the end of the year, all acquired stations are expected to have fully adopted the Virši visual identity and to operate in accordance with the company’s customer service and convenience store concept standards.
