The largest domestic fuel trader “Virši” has opened a brand new compressed natural gas (hereinafter – CNG) refuelling station in Rēzekne. A significant investment, by investing approximately EUR 2 million, has been made in the development of the company and in the compressed natural gas infrastructure. Virši Rēzekne – a new concept station, the design of which was taken care of by the design studio H2E.
Jānis Vība, the Chief Executive Director of “Virši”, explains: “We are satisfied with the opening of our first station in Rēzekne, and at the same time as the opening of this station, we can highlight several important directions of the company's development. First, it should be mentioned that this is already the 4th CNG refuelling station in Latvia. We have made a significant investment in expanding the network of CNG stations to make it more accessible and convenient for the customer. We will continue to develop the CNG infrastructure to promote the use of cleaner energy in road transport. The benefits of using CNG in transport are clearly defined: first, it is a cost-saving measure and, second, it is a more environmentally friendly mode of transport than petrol, diesel or LPG cars.
The second direction of the “Virši” development that I would like to mention is that this is a new concept station, the interior design of which we entrusted to Ingūna and Holgers Elers, the founders of the local design studio H2E. The interior of this station with its new concept emphasises the values and constant development of “Virši”, and we will continue to implement this interior design project in all new “Virši” service stations.”
The importance of high-quality interior is growing with regard to petrol stations as well. The new Virši Rēzekne station combines functionality and authenticity. The interior design project considered the company's values, the operating principles of the service station, the needs of today's consumers and future prospects.
Ingūna Elere, co-founder and designer of H2E: “We live in a physical environment and the quality of space undoubtedly plays a role in our daily lives, decisions, and actions. Therefore, the importance of quality interior is becoming increasingly important. To find out what our true values are, to highlight unique aspects, to arouse interest, loyalty, and a sense of belonging. The interior design was based on the idea of transforming traditions. Vision of the interior design – a place to not only refuel with actual fuel, but also a place with Latvianness. As for the visual language of the premise, I would like to say that it is patriotic and at the same time international. The interior design of the premises is based on traditions and is modern, intelligent, as well as strong. A modern interpretation of the traditions, that speaks warmly and honestly.”
Full-service station Virši Rēzekne is the 62nd station in the Viršu network and the fourth CNG refuel point in Latvia. The station is located at 13B Stacijas Street, Rēzekne.
